Meet The Team

Dr. Geoff’s passion for dentistry began at a young age after spending a lot of time in the dental chair himself. Thanks to a positive and even fun experience with his orthodontist and dentist, he saw firsthand how impactful a compassionate approach to care could be. After hearing from friends and family who dreaded dental visits, Dr. Geoff made it his mission to change the way people feel about going to the dentist.

Dr. Geoff earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Western Washington University and his DDS degree from the University of Washington. Together with Dr. Niki, he is proud of what they have built at West Seattle Smile Co., a reimagined dental experience designed to be as comfortable, welcoming, and patient-centered as possible. The office offers a comfort menu with options like blankets, pillows, noise-canceling headphones, and under-eye masks, and is supported by a team that genuinely cares about creating an excellent patient experience.

What motivates Dr. Geoff most is the opportunity to help people smile every single day. Whether he’s relieving someone from dental pain or completing a full smile transformation, he feels grateful to play a role in improving both confidence and quality of life.

Dr. Geoff lives in West Seattle with his wife, Dr. Niki, and their two children. Originally from Olympia, he enjoys a wide range of outdoor activities, especially golf. Living and working in West Seattle has been incredibly meaningful to their family, and he values being part of such a close-knit, community-focused neighborhood.

Dr. Niki combines her love of science, creativity, and service to provide thoughtful, patient-centered dental care. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Carroll College and went on to receive her DDS degree from the University of Washington.

What drew Dr. Niki to dentistry was the unique balance of artistry and humanitarian care. She finds deep fulfillment in helping others while also being creative, and she brings that passion into every aspect of her work. Dr. Niki is especially proud of the practice she and Dr. Geoff have built—one that feels warm, open, and welcoming, where patients are met with compassion and cared for in a judgment-free environment.

Dr. Niki feels fortunate to provide comprehensive, complex, and cosmetic dentistry in a setting that prioritizes patient goals and comfort. Seeing her patients’ confidence grow and their smiles transformed once those goals are achieved is what motivates her each day.

Outside of the office, Dr. Niki lives in West Seattle with her husband, Dr. Geoff, and their two children. As a family, they love spending time outdoors hiking, golfing, biking, and camping whenever they can.

Kiersten is the Practice Administrator at West Seattle Smile Co. and plays a key role in shaping each patient’s experience from the very first interaction. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Montana State University and is currently pursuing her MBA at Washington State University.

Kiersten’s path into dentistry began shortly after college, when a family friend invited her to train as a dental assistant. She quickly fell in love with the field and, within a year, transitioned into dental administration and management—a role she has embraced ever since.

What Kiersten loves most about West Seattle Smile Co. and working alongside Dr. Niki and Dr. Geoff Johnston is the welcoming, patient-focused environment they cultivate. She finds joy in watching patients leave the office with a smile after positive interactions with the team and takes pride in ensuring every visit feels smooth, organized, and genuinely enjoyable.

Kiersten is motivated each day by the patients she gets to meet and connect with. She believes the patient experience begins at the front desk and values the opportunity to create a strong, positive first impression that sets the tone for their entire visit.

Currently, Kiersten lives in West Seattle with her partner, Jake, and their dog, Maizy. Originally from Bozeman, Montana, she enjoys reading, attending live music concerts, and exploring all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer outside of work and school.

Angela has been part of the dental world since high school, when she first started helping in the front office. Her early exposure to patient care sparked a passion that led her to become a dental assistant and eventually pursue hygiene school. She graduated from Lake Washington Institute of Technology in 2007 and has been caring for patients ever since.

Over the course of her career, Angela has worked in several dental offices, but she says West Seattle Smile Co. stands out above the rest. She loves that the doctors genuinely invest in their team and are committed to providing excellent, patient-focused care. Just as importantly, she appreciates the strong team culture and the wonderful patients who make coming to work each day enjoyable.

Angela finds motivation and joy in knowing that the care she provides truly makes a difference. She values working alongside teammates who share the same goals and believes that when a team works well together, it shows in the experience patients receive.

Originally from Mukilteo, Angela moved to West Seattle in 2015 to start her family. She and her husband have three children—a 10-year-old son and 7-year-old boy/girl twins who attend Gatewood Elementary. Outside of the office, you’ll likely find Angela cheering on her boys at basketball games or watching her daughter shine in gymnastics.

Brianna knew from a young age that she wanted to work in dentistry and has carried that passion with her throughout her career. She graduated from Pima Medical Institute and brings a genuine, patient-centered approach to everything she does. Brianna values building trusting relationships with her patients and finds fulfillment in helping them improve not only their oral health, but also their overall confidence.

What Brianna appreciates most about working at West Seattle Smile Co. is being part of a team that is deeply committed to delivering high-quality care. She has complete trust in her teammates and feels confident trusting them with her own dental care, as well as the care of her friends and family. Being able to serve patients in the same community where she grew up makes her work even more meaningful.

Outside of the office, Brianna enjoys traveling, spending quality time with the people she loves, and getting outdoors with her two dogs.

Kiya is the Lead Certified Dental Assistant at West Seattle Smile Co. and began her dental career learning hands-on right here in the office under the mentorship of Dr. Geoff and Dr. Niki Johnston. She passed her board exams in 2024 and is excited to continue expanding her skills and education in dentistry.

Although Kiya “fell into” dentistry, it quickly became a career she is passionate about and can’t imagine leaving. She loves working alongside Drs. Geoff and Niki, who create an engaging, forward-thinking environment and are always exploring new materials and technology to provide the highest level of care for their patients. Being part of a team that consistently strives for excellence makes her proud of the care they deliver, and she truly wouldn’t want to work anywhere else.

Kiya finds motivation in complex cosmetic cases and surgical procedures, but what brings her the most joy is being recognized by patients after helping guide them through their treatment and seeing their confidence grow.

Originally from the Everett/Lynnwood area, Kiya is the oldest of 13 siblings. Outside of the office, she loves spending time outdoors hiking, camping, and backpacking. She has recently gotten into bouldering and is looking forward to trying snowboarding next.

Miya is a dental assistant who truly enjoys helping others and making each patient’s day a little brighter. She takes pride in being a supportive presence for both patients and teammates and values working in an environment where collaboration and encouragement are part of the daily culture.

What Miya appreciates most about West Seattle Smile Co. is the strong, supportive team. She feels comfortable asking questions, learning from those around her, and growing in her role each day. Miya especially enjoys communicating with patients, lifting their spirits, and finding meaningful ways to help throughout their visit.

Miya lived in Ukraine for 19 years and has a deep love for animals. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her cat, Fiona.
